Jean-Baptiste Jean

Jean-Baptiste Jean was born in Cap Haitien in 1953. His parents were a mason and a seamstress. He worked as a carpenter until he was invited to work in the studio of the master Cap Haitien painter, Philomé Obin. He worked there for two years before beginning to paint n his own. Today he is one of the leading practitioners of the Cap Haitien school of haitian painting.
