Victor Jean-Claude was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He was known as a painter in the naive style who began as a creator of voudou flags. He only began to paint in the late 1990's. He was known largely for his charming protraits of women, often with birds, such as this one. He died in 2004 after a sadly brief career.
