My parents could not afford to send me to school and I was married at the age of twelve.  According to our culture I went to my husband’s house for one day but then I returned to my parent’s house to stay for another two years. When I went to apply to work at the Janakpur Women's Development Centre I received paper, paint and a pencil for a test painting. I had not had these things before in all my life. Now I even ride a bicycle and from the money I earn I can buy food. I have also met new friends there. My friends in my village do not know so much about the world I know.
