Anil Vangad is a Warli painter living in Mumbai, India  The Warli painting tradition spans more than 1200 years.  Initially done on the walls of huts, this art form passes on folktales, history and legends of the Warli people.  The unique style is characterized by the use of earth tones and circles, triangles and squares.  Perhaps the most prominent theme in Warli pieces is the need for equilibrium between humans and nature.
