Murat BRIERRE was born in Mirebalais in 1938. He first worked as a builder, cabinetmaker and blacksmith before being introduced to Le Centre d’Art in 1966.
Gabriel Bien-Aimé was born in 1951 in the village of Croix des Bouquets, now known as the “cradle of 20th century Haitian metal sculpture”.
Indigo Arts has loaned sculptural works by Haitian artists Murat Brierre, Serge Jolimeau and Gabriel Bien-Aimé to this groundbreaking exhibition:
